For your entertainment!

I know, second post in one day! I just had to share this with everyone. I'm sure many of you may have already heard of it, but it's called elfyourself.com. I made one with my mom, dad, kevin, jeremy and I as the elves! Take a look!

I thought it was pretty funny! You should make one too!

Entering the home stretch!

This morning I went to see my doctor and the appointment went very well! I have only gained 2 pounds since my last appointmet 2 weeks ago. I guess I did better than I thought over Thanksgiving! Christmas is coming though, so hopefully, I can be disciplined enough to not eat alot.

I also got my results back from my glucose test and I passed! My doctor told me that anything below 140 is normal and mine was 132! She actually told me that some people say anything below 130 is normal, so I'm glad she didn't go with those numbers or I would have to take another test!

Besides all that, the baby is measuring normal and everything is going very well with my pregnancy! I really thank God that he has allowed me to have such an easy pregnancy. Sometimes, I may think that my little back aches are the most aweful thing in the world at the time, but I truly have gotten by so easy! I'm just amazed all the time that God has allowed me to carry this life inside of me and give her the best possible home that we can!

Here are some updated pictures that I took last night of myself! I'm definetly getting bigger!

Thanksgiving Weekend

Thanksgiving has come and gone, but it was such a wonderful weekend! Jeremy and I hosted Thanksgiving at our house this year and we were so glad that we did. Everything turned out so nice and my first attempt at a turkey went very well! Jeremy and I also decorated the house some for Christmas! I love our tree that we have. We went with a red and gold theme (if you can't tell...haha). I absolutely love the holidays and I'm so glad that they are here!

Here are some pictures from the weekend!

This picture doesn't do my turkey justice, but it
did turn out very good! We just had some
trouble transfering it to the platter!

Jeremy and I in our kitcken. I just had to bring
out my apron! It doesn't quite fit like it used to
though!

I also made a pumpkin pie this year. I guess it
was a success also!

This is my "secret" recipe. Chocolate Banana Pudding!

This is our living room all decorated for Christmas!

I made these stockings last night! Very cheap craft!

Our very first Christmas Tree! We
had so much fun decorating it together!
Can't wait to put presents underneath!

I'm in the Holiday Spirit now!

Today I officially entered into the holiday spirit! One of the local radio stations started to play Christmas music and now I am hooked! I tried to get myself in the spirit about a week ago by playing some Christmas music at home, but it just wasn't happening then. I think this year I just had to let it come naturally! So in the spirit of the holiday's I wanted to share some of my favorite things that I love about this time of year!

  1. I love the warm and fuzzy feeling that this time of year brings. I love being with friends and family inside a warm house when it's so cold outside! It's fun to just sit around and enjoy each other's company while watching a movie or making cookies or just talking with each other!
  2. Christmas music is another favorite of mine as you can see from what I wrote at the top. This just really puts me in the mood because as soon as they start to play non-stop music, I immediately want to do everything else that comes with this season.
  3. Christmas movies are a must have this time of year. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Elf, White Christmas, A Charlie Brown Christmas are just a few that I cannot go without watching every year!
  4. Let's not forget about Thanksgiving! I'm really excited about Christmas, but I don't want to forget about this holiday. It is probably one of my favorites to celebrate. I love when family comes together and spends time together without any distractions going on. The food is great and I love the feeling the day brings. We should be thankful throughout the whole year, but it is always good to be especially thankful on this day!
  5. Last but not least, I love to decorate! This year Jeremy and I have our own house and I cannot wait to decorate the house for Thanksgiving and Christmas! We are having Thanksgiving dinner at our house this year and I think it will be so much fun!

I would love to know what some of your favorite things about the holidays are!

Just for the fun of it

Today I wanted to make an unusual post. I'm sure you have all seen advertisements for "Free Personality Test", but let me assure you, this one is different. The only way that it will work, is if you answer the questions completely honest! No cheating! I promise you once you get the results it will scare you how accurate they are. Once you take the test, I'm gonna make a poll because I'm curious to see which personality type everyone is!

Here is the link for the test. There are about 30 questions. Remember, be completely honest!!

Growing...

Sorry that I haven't posted anything in a long time! Life here has been very busy and it just doesn't seem to slow down! I'm sure everyone can sympathize with that...lol!

So, here is an update of what my belly has been doing over the past 7 months! It's hard to believe that Madelyn will be here so soon! You can definetly tell by this picture that she is getting ready for her arrival!

There you have it!

I've picked up an old habit...

Don't worry, it's nothing bad or anything...lol. I've recently started reading again. I go through stages where I get into a habit of loving to read and then, I lose it. I can't seem to stay focused on what I am reading for very long to keep it up for very long. However, whenever I read Karen Kingsbury books, I get so involved in them and I just can't seem to put them down.

Right now, I am reading a great series that she has. I just recently finished "A Time to Dance" and have moved on to the sequel, "A Time to Embrace". These two books have probably been some of the best I have read yet. The reason that I love these books so much is because they have helped me appreciate my marriage more. The first book deals with a couple's battle to keep their marriage together and how in the end they overcame many trials and were stronger because of them in the end. Jeremy and I have a wonderful marriage and I am so thankful that we have not had to face any hard trials just yet. I pray that God helps us continue to keep Him first in our marriage so that when we face the hard times, we can look to him for help.

As for book number two, I am still reading! I can hardly put it down though!

I know some of you out there love Karen Kingsbury just as much as I do. Any good recommendations for my next book to read? I wanna keep this habit going!

I Voted!

This morning at 7 am, I went to the polls and voted for the first time! I'm somewhat of a procrastinator, so I had never registered to vote until this year's deadline...lol. Needless to say, I made the deadline and was able to cast my vote. It was a good experience too. I wasn't sure what to expect as far as how long I would wait (I've heard that can be a nightmare) or how to actually vote! With help from Jeremy though, I think I did well. From what I've heard, the place where I voted is a little old fashioned. They don't actually have machines to vote on. They give you a ballot with all of the parties and candidates on it and beside each name is a broken arrow. What you have to do is fill in the arrow next to the person you choose to vote for. No pushing buttons or flipping switches. Just a pen and paper. As soon as you finish doing that, you put your ballot into a machine and it reads it for you! The process is probably alot better because you don't have to wait as long and it's alot less confusing! I was in my polling place for maybe 5 minutes! After Jeremy and I voted, we went and ate breakfast together! It was a good morning! I even made it to work early...lol.

So I suppose you are wondering who I voted for!

There you have it!

25 weeks already??

I cannot believe that I am over half way there! Before you know it, Madelyn will be here. I can't wait until she arrives and I get to hold her for the first time, play with her and do all the other things that come with having a newborn. I do realize though, that having a newborn will be filled with up days and down days! Still, just the thought of being a mom and getting to care for her is such an exciting thought! I want to give everyone an update as to what I look like now so I will be posting pictures soon. My belly sure has grown! It's all maternity clothes now. This weekend my mother-in-law and some friends are going to SC to visit my sister-in-law. Hopefully, we will be able to pick up some things for the baby as well as some clothes for me!
Jeremy and I are starting to work on the nursery. We just got the flooring the other day at lowes and it is beautiful! We decided to go with hardwood and then have an area rug in the middle of the room for her to play on. I am going to paint the top part of the wall white and the bottom half light pink with white chairrail as the border. Then, I am going to tie in some green with it all. I can't wait until it is finished! If anyone has any ideas, I am open for suggestion!
Things are definetly coming together! In a few months, we will be able to know her and see what she looks like! This is such an exciting time! If 25 weeks has flown by this fast, I have no doubt in my mind that the rest of the time will go quickly!

Fall Favorites

Today is all about my favorite season! Every year when fall comes around, I get very excited because there are many things that I enjoy about this season. Here are just a few that I wanted to share with you today:

  1. Changing of the leaves! I think that when the leaves change, it is the most beautiful thing in the world! All the colors remind me of how real God is. Just by looking around at all the trees, you will know that only God could have created something that wonderful!
  2. Sweaters and warm clothes is another thing that I love when fall comes around. There is just something very comforting about being warm and cozy when the weather is starting to change! It makes you want to snuggle with a blanket and read a book!
  3. Football season! Having been at high school football games all during high school, I love the atmosphere that a fall football game brings! After I graduate however, I lost interest somewhat. But now, I get very excited when the West Virginia Mountaineers play football. I actually had the chance to go to a game last month! It was so much fun being in the crowd with all the crazy fans! The weather was just right and it reminded me of how much I love football season.
  4. Pumpkin carving and pumpkin pie is definetly a fall favorite for me. This year, I have set my mind to making a pumpkin pie. In the past, I would just buy one from the store. Now I can kill two birds with one stone. Buy the pumpkin to carve and then what is left from it, make a pumpkin pie! I don't know why I haven't thought of that in the past...!
  5. Last but not least....this season is also my favorite holiday! Thanksgiving. This year will be extra special because Jeremy and I are having Thanksgiving at our house. I can't wait to decorate and have dinner with family and friends. I have never made a turkey though, but I'm sure that my mother-in-law will help me with that. She's a pro at cooking!

So...what are some of your fall favorites? I would love to know what you enjoy about this season!

Better late than never

I wanted to start this blog sooner, but because life happens-this blog didn't happen. For those of you who don't know what has been happening with our family recently, let me take a minute to catch you up to speed.

In June, Jeremy and I found out that we were expecting our first child! Of course, we were very thrilled yet overwhelmed at the same time. Just imagine, after being married for 2 months, you are expecting a child. Needless to say though, we were more than happy!

In September, the doctor told us that we are having a girl! I have always wanted a little girl and I thank God that he has allowed us to be having her. We cannot wait until she gets here!

Madelyn Grace is now growing so fast and I already feel such a bond with her! She is starting to kick and move around all the time. It is hard to believe though, that in just a few short months I will no longer feel her moving inside of me, but will get the chance to hold her. It amazes me every time I think about it, that there is a little person inside of me that I have been given the responsibility to carry and watch her grow up! God truly is amazing!

Now that I have caught everyone up, I just wanted to let you know that I'm looking forward to sharing all of life's experience with everyone as they come along.
