I'm in the Holiday Spirit now!

Today I officially entered into the holiday spirit! One of the local radio stations started to play Christmas music and now I am hooked! I tried to get myself in the spirit about a week ago by playing some Christmas music at home, but it just wasn't happening then. I think this year I just had to let it come naturally! So in the spirit of the holiday's I wanted to share some of my favorite things that I love about this time of year!

  1. I love the warm and fuzzy feeling that this time of year brings. I love being with friends and family inside a warm house when it's so cold outside! It's fun to just sit around and enjoy each other's company while watching a movie or making cookies or just talking with each other!
  2. Christmas music is another favorite of mine as you can see from what I wrote at the top. This just really puts me in the mood because as soon as they start to play non-stop music, I immediately want to do everything else that comes with this season.
  3. Christmas movies are a must have this time of year. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Elf, White Christmas, A Charlie Brown Christmas are just a few that I cannot go without watching every year!
  4. Let's not forget about Thanksgiving! I'm really excited about Christmas, but I don't want to forget about this holiday. It is probably one of my favorites to celebrate. I love when family comes together and spends time together without any distractions going on. The food is great and I love the feeling the day brings. We should be thankful throughout the whole year, but it is always good to be especially thankful on this day!
  5. Last but not least, I love to decorate! This year Jeremy and I have our own house and I cannot wait to decorate the house for Thanksgiving and Christmas! We are having Thanksgiving dinner at our house this year and I think it will be so much fun!

I would love to know what some of your favorite things about the holidays are!

Just for the fun of it

Today I wanted to make an unusual post. I'm sure you have all seen advertisements for "Free Personality Test", but let me assure you, this one is different. The only way that it will work, is if you answer the questions completely honest! No cheating! I promise you once you get the results it will scare you how accurate they are. Once you take the test, I'm gonna make a poll because I'm curious to see which personality type everyone is!

Here is the link for the test. There are about 30 questions. Remember, be completely honest!!

Growing...

Sorry that I haven't posted anything in a long time! Life here has been very busy and it just doesn't seem to slow down! I'm sure everyone can sympathize with that...lol!

So, here is an update of what my belly has been doing over the past 7 months! It's hard to believe that Madelyn will be here so soon! You can definetly tell by this picture that she is getting ready for her arrival!

There you have it!

I've picked up an old habit...

Don't worry, it's nothing bad or anything...lol. I've recently started reading again. I go through stages where I get into a habit of loving to read and then, I lose it. I can't seem to stay focused on what I am reading for very long to keep it up for very long. However, whenever I read Karen Kingsbury books, I get so involved in them and I just can't seem to put them down.

Right now, I am reading a great series that she has. I just recently finished "A Time to Dance" and have moved on to the sequel, "A Time to Embrace". These two books have probably been some of the best I have read yet. The reason that I love these books so much is because they have helped me appreciate my marriage more. The first book deals with a couple's battle to keep their marriage together and how in the end they overcame many trials and were stronger because of them in the end. Jeremy and I have a wonderful marriage and I am so thankful that we have not had to face any hard trials just yet. I pray that God helps us continue to keep Him first in our marriage so that when we face the hard times, we can look to him for help.

As for book number two, I am still reading! I can hardly put it down though!

I know some of you out there love Karen Kingsbury just as much as I do. Any good recommendations for my next book to read? I wanna keep this habit going!

I Voted!

This morning at 7 am, I went to the polls and voted for the first time! I'm somewhat of a procrastinator, so I had never registered to vote until this year's deadline...lol. Needless to say, I made the deadline and was able to cast my vote. It was a good experience too. I wasn't sure what to expect as far as how long I would wait (I've heard that can be a nightmare) or how to actually vote! With help from Jeremy though, I think I did well. From what I've heard, the place where I voted is a little old fashioned. They don't actually have machines to vote on. They give you a ballot with all of the parties and candidates on it and beside each name is a broken arrow. What you have to do is fill in the arrow next to the person you choose to vote for. No pushing buttons or flipping switches. Just a pen and paper. As soon as you finish doing that, you put your ballot into a machine and it reads it for you! The process is probably alot better because you don't have to wait as long and it's alot less confusing! I was in my polling place for maybe 5 minutes! After Jeremy and I voted, we went and ate breakfast together! It was a good morning! I even made it to work early...lol.

So I suppose you are wondering who I voted for!
