March Maddyness

Last night we introduced Maddy to WVU basketball for the first time! She had so much fun watching the game. She is a true fan for sure! Even though WVU didn't win, Maddy cheered them on until the very end!
Here she is at the beginning of the game all ready to cheer the Mountaineers on!
Very intensely watching the game!

Maddy got really nervous when they went into overtime...

In the end, WVU lost and Maddy was very sad. She did good cheering them on though. Better luck next time!

Adjusting Nicely

I really love being a mom! I must say, I believe I am getting a routine and adjusting pretty well. So far, Madelyn has been the best baby I could ever ask for. She cries when she needs something and then goes to sleep! I don't know how long that will last, but I am enjoying it while it does. Here are some pictures from her first 2 weeks in the world. Already, we have taken her to Sonic, gone shopping and bought her a new outfit (it won't fit her until next year though) and has taken many cute pictures!

Maddy wanted a chocolate milkshake from Sonic so we stopped to get her one

This is her new outfit that Grandma Tammy bought her! It has jeans with it. Very cute!

Madelyn Grace Farley

Madelyn Grace Farley was born at 9:00 pm on February 16, 2009. She weighed 8 lbs 15.6 oz and was 21 inches long! We absolutely love her and are so blessed that God gave her to us. She couldn't be anymore perfect. We are so thankful for her!

We brought her home in this outfit.

Help!

I went to the doctor this morning for my 39 week check-up. I am 80% effaced and 1cm dialated! However, my doctor keeps asking me if I want to be induced! I don't understand why she is asking me that if I haven't even reached my due date yet. Does anyone have an answer? I would really rather not be induced because I've heard of complications. Maybe they are just rumors, I don't know. I just really need some advice on all of this! If anyone has any answers or suggestions, PLEASE let me know!

On another note, we are still working on the nursery. Yes, I know...I'm due next week and the room still isn't done! We really don't have alot to do, it's just a matter of not having enough time to do it in! The floor is completely put in and the walls are painted. The furniture still needs to be painted and the crib needs to be put together and we have to put the trim on the wall still! I have a few pictures to show you, so you can see that we really are working on it...lol.

Just pray that we can get the room finished soon and that Maddy will just naturally come soon!!

Thank you Mr. President (Bush)

I was sent this video the other day and wanted to share it with everyone. I didn't agree with all the decisions President Bush made during office, but I do believe he was a very good President! I thought this video was a good tribute to him and shows how much he did for our country!

Maddy update and a great suprise!

Hey there! I just wanted to give everyone an update on how Madelyn and I are doing. Now that I am officially full term, she could come any day now! I am very excited about that but at the same time, I do not have everything ready for her that I would like. We haven't been able to get to our house because of the snow and ice that has been on our road, so that has slowed down progress on the nursery! Jeremy hopes to go up there today and work on it. Also, our heat and water still are not working. It has warmed up somewhat, so hopefully that can be fixed soon. I know that God will bring everything together. I just don't need to worry so much...!

Well, last night Jeremy and I were going to a basketball game. We had originally planned to watch the VA Tech vs UVA woman's game. I work right across from the campus of Tech so the plan was he would just pick me up after work, we would get dinner and go watch the game. One of the girls that I work with is the coach of the dance team at Radford University. She told me that Radford was playing VMI and it was a men's game. We thought that game may be more exciting and so we decided to go there instead. Radford is also closer to our house. So, we got to the game and as soon as we go there, I had to go to the bathroom really bad. Found the bathroom, came out and I started having really bad back pains. I then got really nausious and started feeling very hot! My first thought was, "oh great, I'm gonna have this baby at a basketball game!!" I was not very happy...! Jeremy decided it would probably be best to go home and so we did! When I got in the car, I started feeling better and the rest of the night I was fine. I guess we just had a false alarm! I do however believe that she will be here sooner than Feb. 10th!

Now for the suprise! This morning when I got to work, the girls gave me a present and a cake! I was very shocked! They are so wonderful to do that for me! The thing that I was the most excited about was the diaper bag. As most of you know, I am a huge Vera Bradley fan. The thing that I have been wanting more than anything since I found out I was pregnant was the Vera Diaper bag to match my purse! Well....they got it for me! I was so thrilled!! I could not thank them enough. Here is my new diaper bag!Sorry for the long post, but I had alot to cover today...lol. I will keep everyone updated on Madelyn and let you know as soon as I can when she is born! Please keep us in your prayers!

Progress...

Slowly but surely we are making progress with the nursery. We have had a few minor setbacks, but everything is starting to come together. I bought the crib set from Target back in October and have since then been looking for the perfect crib. I had a few choices and today I finally decided on one! I really loved the way the crib set was pictured with a white crib so I just had to have one! Here is the one that I decided to go with!

I found it online at Wal-Mart for a very good price and they do free shipping if you have it sent to the store! It should arrive it just a couple of weeks. I can't wait to put it all together with the crib set. Tonight we are going to try and finish sanding and painting the walls. We had to putty the walls quite a bit because they weren't in very good shape. Hopefully we can finish that up so tomorrow we can start laying the floor. We decided to go with hardwood. I think that will be a nice touch!

I mentioned earlier we had a few minor setbacks. Well, the weather has been extremely cold here and has caused our pipes to freeze and we think they may have busted! Please pray that we can get all of that taken care of before Madelyn gets here. I really don't want her to come home to such a crazy house...lol!

As far as baby Maddy goes, I had my 36 week check up on Wednesday and everything looks great! The doctor said that my cervix is softening. I'm not really sure what that means, but I would assume that I am nearing the end! I also had my test done for Strep B. Pray that it comes back negative because that could cause potential problems during the delivery! I cannot wait until she gets here. I'm getting very anxious!

I will post more later on. Hopefully I can give you a sneak preview of the nursery!

The Baby Bowl

This past weekend I had my first baby shower given by my mother in law! She did such a great job with everything! The theme was centered around all the football bowl games that have been happening recently. Now I know that football is for boys, but you have to understand that my family loves football! So we decided that the shower would be a "baby bowl". It was very fun and we received alot of nice things! Here are just a few pictures from the party that I wanted to share with everyone.

My grandmother is throwing me a shower this weekend! I will post pictures as soon as I can!

P.S. Here is the 35 weeks belly!
